Five small habits for a calmer solve. Take your time, follow the clues, and give every cat its place.

Start with the smallest regions
Small color regions and edges often reveal a forced cat first. Find the region with the fewest possible cells and work outward.
Check off each row
Once a row has a cat, rule out its other cells. Do the same for the column to keep your next move clear.
Keep an eye on diagonals
Cats can’t touch, even at a corner. A cell may fit its row and region but still sit diagonally beside another cat.
Leave room for later
Large regions have more possibilities. Let the surrounding cats narrow them down before you commit.
Pause before placing
Check the region, row, column, and neighboring cells. If more than one cell still works, keep looking for a clearer move.
